Although My Computer Information lists Domain as "HOME,"
the Security Tab is missing from the C:\WINDOWS\Temp
Properties. I can remove the Read-only attribute
temporarily, but it is soon restored and I don't know
how. It prevents installation of some software from a CD
because write permission is denied.
The online KB support says the workaround if the Security
Tab is missing is to disable Simple Sharing but Simple
Sharing cannot be disabled in XP Home Edition.
This seems to be a basic deficiency unless I somehow
maneuvered myself into this situation.
