when I make any changes to the taskbar it always comes
back the same as before when I reboot. In other words I
can't make any permanent changes
I use auto login with no password. Have had no problems
changing the taskbar properties and settings in th past
Would greatly appreciate your help

One possible cause is that you aren't shutting down properly. The taskbar
settings are saved when explorer exits normally. If you are shutting down
properly then I'm not sure why it is happening.

Hi Bob,

Make your changes, run this edit, reboot.

Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
