Hi Chris,

If you can open explorer, go to Control Panel and than click on display.
This should open the Display Properties screen and than change it to a good
theme.

Another way.

You should be able to open the start menu by pressing the " Win Key "
The key between Ctrl and Alt.

Than open Control Panel and click on Display.

After that delete the theme which caused this problem.

Hi Chris,

Try booting into safe mode and making the change from there.

Click on F8 following the bios screen and choose Safe Mode.

I had this problem myself a while back.

The only way round it that I found was to create a new
user account.

Windows do show but are just all black - even going to
control panel etc and changing themes back with the
correct key stroke sequence didn't resolve it.

Definitely appeared to be acorrupt user profile.
