hi,
I just wanted to know how can I restrict other users on this computer from
accessing folders like control panel etc.
As an administrator, is it possible ?
Regards.

Click Start
Choose Run
Type "mmc" click "file" and choose "add/remove snap-in"
Click "add" and choose "group policy" then click "close" and "ok"
Now expand "local computer policy" then "user configuration"
Settings for control panal are in "administrative templates" -> "control
panal"
Enjoy.
This works in XP Pro. I have never used XP Home so I can't help you there.

The most simple approach is to restrict their ability=20
to use the folders or files at the NTFS permissions=20
level. For things like control panel this means that=20
you need to understand what file lies below a feature.
There are third party programs that will help you=20
with placing some types of restrictions on specific=20
accounts.
