updates-- slowmachine/new account

It seems a new account on the machine was created by the
NET Framework update. I have not been able to change the
settings (as one of the posts recommends) to have it boot
directly to my desktop again. Any help would be
appreciated, a rookie here so please be as specific as
possible. Second question -- when I try to remove 811493
it prompts me that Net Framework 1.1 and 814995 may not
work properly....true or false alarm.

1) Go Start|Run type in "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes) and
hit Enter. Highlight your User name in the list and uncheck the box which
states "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Now
your computer should boot straight into Windows as it did before this
update.

2) Ignore the warning :-)
