Jerry, the problem may not lay in security settings, what
happens when you format a computer you're always inclined
to put that administrative password for security settings
and also inclination brings you to make it so that the all
users must log on... the desktop probably didn't have this
done on to it. go to control panel and click the user
accounts. you can make your password there so that either
a, on the laptop you turn off the need for the desk top to
ask for the password or b. on the Desktop so that the
laptop requires you to enter the user name and pass.
