An obnoxious program PurityScan, was accidently
downloaded onto my comuter. Now I can't uninstall it. I
can find it but It doesn't show up in the uninstall file.
How do I get rid of this program?

Here's a little description I found regarding Purity
"PurityScan Ad Server
The PurityScan Ad Server (WINSERVS) is installed on computers when the user
visits www.purityscan.com and initiates the "FREE Scan" to scan your
computer for potentially offensive material. In reality, the product
installs its own pop-up ad serving software on your computer that will
display pop-up ads when you surf the web. The product does NOT provide a
standard uninstall in the Control Panel and places itself inside your
startup group so it starts every time you start your computer!"

In other words, they are scumware or at very least spyware. You can try
using Ad Aware or Spybot to get rid of it.
