I have an e machines w/preloaded XP home edition w/McAfee
that's been working fine for a couple of years. All of a
sudden (w/o any changes I can think of), when either my
wife or I click on our logon icon we get the following MS
Office XP Professional dialog box "..feature you are
trying to use is on a CD or other..disk that is not
available. Insert MS office XP Pro disk..and click OK."
Since I'm not running Pro and don't have a disk for
either, I click cancel and get "Error 1706"
regarding "proset.msi" file. I click OK and everything
works fine until next time one of us logs on and we go
through the same thing again. I keep virus scan updated.

Greetings --
It's asking for the OFFICE XP Pro CD, not a WinXP Pro CD.

I believe you're right Bruce, thanks. I didn't even think
of that even though I do have Office Pro.
