After installing XP, upgrading from Windows 98 I have
started experiencing something strange. I shut down
windows by using the "Computer Turn Off" screen. After
windows shuts down the message comes on with "It is safe
to turn off Computer". I press the power button on the
computer to turn it off. Everything shuts down great..
After a few minutes, and even upto 30 minutes, of being
completely powered off, the computer starts powering it's
self back on with out any human intervention.. Is there
something that needs to be change in the setup or power
management? This never happened before in Windows 98.

Hi Gary,

Disable everything that reads 'Wake up' in the BIOS settings. Also, I have
seen this behavior if you have a CD/DVD in the drive during a shutdown.
