Can't help with the floppy....
BUT, if you're lucky, there may still be a temp file created by word the
last time you had that document open still hangin around on your machine.
DO a file search on *.doc.... look for a funky file name with a date about
the last date you remember opening it.
I've gotten lucky that way a few times.

Ralph(who won't graduate)
How did you get to the almost-graduating-from-college stage without learning
that you should NEVER! save to or open from a floppy?
Floppies are for storing and transporting files.
Save to your HDD first then copy to the floppy. When you want to work with
the file(s) copy back to HDD and open from there.
Your file on floppy is most likely junk and I doubt if you can find a copy on
your HDD if you did not save it there.
See you next year at Graduation.
