After successfully installing security updates 811493 & 817287 as well as
the recommended update 815485, I found as others have that my computer had
slowed considerably. I did a system restore back to April 15th which
corrected the problem but I was concerned with not having these updates. I
was advised to not install 811493 & just install the others but the problem
is they download fine but fail to install. I get the message. Catalog
database corruption in Microsoft Windows. Any suggestions??

Rhonda;
To add to what Kevin stated.
You are better of going to Add/Remove Programs to uninstall the
specific application/fix if option is available (in this case it is)
than to use System Restore.
system Restore is a great tool, but it is better to simply undo what
was done if possible than to use the much broader System Restore.
