I'm having a problem with copying and pasting. When I
try to paste something from a CAD program into MS Word,
for example, the "paste function" is grayed on the menu,
not black as it should be.

sorry, I meant Cntrol C to copy, Control V to paste...

Often when you copy and then open Word, the Office clipboard will knock
the copied data out of the Windows clipboard.
Instead, open Word first. Then do the copy/paste operation.
