I am running a two computer network right now, both XP
Pro machines are mine. However, two other users will be
soon joining the network, and I dont want them to have
access to my folders that are shared on the network.

I've gone to the security tab on the shared folders, and
I can only add user permissions for the machine I'm on.
In other words, I can't add my desktop user account to my
laptop's shares, and I can't add my laptop user acct to
my desktop's shares. The "find locations" box only
displays the computer I'm on. I think it may have to do
w/ the fact that the computers aren't part of a domain,
but they are part of the same workgroup. Can anyone
help!? Thanks in advance!

Because you do not have a domain controler you will only be able to set
folder access using local accounts. This will mean that each time you
connect to a share on another computer you will have to enter a username and
password that is local to the machine you want to connect to. a little bit
of a hassle but it will keep your shares secure.

Remove "NOT' to reply.
But it is best to reply to the group so everyone can share.
Even if it makes me look stupid, others could use a laugh.
