I want to use WinXP but I have a question about
activation. I build my own computers and if I run into a
major problem I just reload windows. How does this work
with XP? I dont want to buy something and only be able to
activiate it a couple of times. I need to be able to
reload as many times as I need.

You can activate as often as you want on the same machine. If you reformat,
activation will be necessary but it's usually nothing more than it was the
first time you installed, essentially a handshake between two computers over
the internet. If there have been a lot of hardware changes, you might be
presented with a phone number to call, just explain what you have done and
they will reactivate over the phone.
