Even though I have set my folder options using Tools > Folder Options... >
View > Apply to All Folders, I still "sometimes" get folders with completely
different views. I can understand if a folder remembers the last view and
uses it, but that's not what is happening here. For example, some folders
use the Tiles view, which I never used.

There's a registry setting that lets you increase the "Folders to remember"
from 400 to, say, 64K but that has not worked for me. Besides, it doesn't
explain why I get views like Tiles which I never use under any circumstance.

Does anyone know why folders under Windows XP do not remember their
views?

If you want all the folders to display the same style, you need to make sure
"Remeber Each Folder's View Settings" under Folder Options/View/Advanced
Settings is unchecked.
