Well, it's not like you even mentioned "NT system shutdown" in the first
message. All you basically said was, "it's broken". Perhaps you have
something as simple as the blaster worm. Perhaps more. How could anyone
reading your post(s) tell? Scan with a current antivirus program using
updated definitions in Safe Mode. If you can't do this, take the
machine to a good local computer shop (not a Best Buy or CompUSA type
of store) and have them fix it.
