NAT

I have recently setup a (LAN) at home just between a laptop and my own
computer, using a linkup Ethernet cable between our two computers. At first
everything appeared to work fine. I had to reconfigure my firewall to allow
for the network, and to use my computer for ICS as the gateway, after having
done this however I now keep getting an error message in my error log file
and the error always says

The Network Address Translator (NAT) was unable to request an operation of
the kernel-mode translation module. This may indicate misconfiguration,
insufficient resources, or an internal error. The data is the error code.
This intially started when my brother switched off the network connection
between the two computers ( he didn't take the cable out he just
disconnected from the network). This now means that my conputer takes ages
to boot and doesn't recognise any network connections.....can anyone
help??????
