Daughter's bad ex-boyfriend put a administrator password
on nine year old grandson's Dell computer that runs
Windows XP. Grandson cannot access anything or load his
games, nothing. All disks that came with computer are
missing; otherwise wipe everything out and reload. Dell
says they cannot replace disk. Microsoft says because its
over a year old they do not have a replacement disc for
purchase. Please, please can someone help us get rid of
or get around this password!!?? We'd be forever grateful.

Patti;

Or
Reboot to Safe Mode, select Administrator, leave password blank.
Then go to User Accounts in Control Panel.
Select the user and change the password.
If you are using Windows XP Pro and have encrypted data, you may
permanently lose access to the encrypted data.

Here are other options:

After this is resolved, take precautions to not lose the password.

Also search hard for the CDs, sooner or later they will be needed.
Without the CDs, the computer may turn into a poor boat anchor or door
stop.
