Can anyone point me in the right direction to find this? I
have several computers I want to install it on, and I
don't like the prospect of downloading it several times

I have the 9.0 distribution, so just a 9.0 to 9.0a upgrade
would do..

Get it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A19BED22-0B25-
4E5D-A584-6389D8A3DAD0&displaylang=en
(If the above link breaks, be prepared to paste it together in your
browser.)

Make sure you read the instructions before downloading, since the
instructions contain information on how to download it to your HD
instead of doing an in-place upgrade of your DirectX 9.0.

Hi

The only thing you get downloaded to the local hard disk with that link is the
291 Kb large dxwebsetup.exe. Next time you run it, it will need to have access
to Internet, and it will download and *install* 9.0a. That is not what I call
redistributable :(

Hi

As far as I know, there is no option to do an offline upgrade to 9.0a.

But , after you have installed 9.0 (offline) and rebooted, the Web install of
9.0a will only need to download the difference between 9.0 and 9.0, and this
will go pretty fast. I just tested it, and the internet download part of the
upgrade took less than 30 seconds (the rest of the upgrade took a lot longer
time).

9.0a upgrade (Web based)

Sorry:( The site said nothing about not saving the upgrade to your hd.
I just assumed it meant "save the Update to HD instead of do an in-place
upgrade". I will try to research more carefully next time. I got in a
hurry.
