Greetings all,
I recently ran into a problem where I damaged my OS install
by uninstalling/reinstalling motherboard drivers. My
system locked up during a System Restore and when it
attempted to boot to the desktop, it claimed that Explorer
or System Restore were not associated with any .exe!
Anyway, I booted to my WinXP CD and attempted to do a
repair, but it bumped me to a wierd DOS-like screen. I was
presented with several options and chose to repair my MBR,
assuming that it may have been damaged. Now when I try to
boot to my desktop, it does not recognize a bootable OS on
that drive!
I have 15 gigs worth of data in My Documents (and hundreds
of email in Outlook Express); is there any way to recover
this data?
I tried assigning it as a slave drive to another computer,
but it wont let me into My Documents because I had it
password protected on my original computer.
Any info appreciated!
I am using WinXP Pro under NTFS.
Cheers,
Dylan
