I set all the clients get IP autmatically from router.
Normally, the IP address
should be 192.168.0.xx. However, one of it (running winXP
pro) get the IP
address started other than 192 . I have fixed IP for it
to solve the problem
now. But want to what happen? Thank you

I'm assuming that this worked at one time, but now doesn't. This means
that something changed. That is and may remain, a mystery.
A couple of ideas which may or may not help:
- check on router that you've not exceeded the number of "leases". The
last one in might have none available. Picked up an address from
somewhere on the network, I guess.
- check that the DHCP Client service is running on the faulty XP
machine. If not running, see if you can see why not. Check event log.
Check if a change was made. Set it to start automatically.
