There is a folder on an XP laptop here at work, that is
unable to open any of the word documents contained in a
created folder in "my documents".

The odd thing about it is that the text (when viewing in
explorer/my computer) appears green instead of black.

It states either the file is read only, or the path is
invalid, even though the path exists, and I have checked
all the permissions.

Does anyone know why the text in explorer would appear
green?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated,

thanks,

Baker

Hi

It indicates that the files are encrypted with Microsoft's Encrypting File
System (EFS)
