Is this patch affecting Win2000 the same way as it is for WinXP?
Should I unistall Q811493 in my Win2000 systems? As I have on my WinXP
Systems.

Thanks,
Dennis

The problem with the 811493 slow down affects only XP users with XP SP1
installed. I am running 811493 on many Win2K Pro workstations with no ill
effects.

FWIW, Q811493 Prevents me from successfully resuming from STR mode on
my Win2k Pro SP3 machine. The screen is garbled and the system is
very unstable (though slightly usable to be able to do a clean reboot
most of the time)

Removing Q811493 brings back everything to normal!

STR mode? Is that like Hibernate mode?

STR is Suspend To RAM (S3) power management mode.
