Hey All,
I'm having some problems with computers keeping the wrong
time. I have two questions. First off, Can I have
windows Xp pro use a server on the LAN as its time server
(because of our firewall, we cannot update through the
online time servers). Second off, where do i find a
tutorial explaining how to set up a windows 2000 server
as a time server for a lan?

Thanks in advance!!

Simple. On the Windows 2000 computer you wish to make the LAN time
server, install the `Simple TCP/IP services`. Have this one computer
update it's clock from an online time server. Maybe best use a
Stratum-1 server. The two Windows XP has configured as defaults are
`time.nist.gov` and `time.windows.com`.

Just configure the firewall to allow the Windows 2000 server to
updates it's clock from the Internet. If you don't want this to
happen then you'll have to aquire some extra hardware that reads the
tome from the GPS satellites.
