my .lnk files are all fouled up. I inadvertently used a
product called QuickReg from MooSoft to open a program
and now no links are operable.... and I can't even
mannually run regedit. can anyone help>

Can you run system restore, to return to the time prior to QuickReg install?

Hi,
Try System Rsetore.
If that fails then try XP Repair Install.
