Invalid Desktop Shortcuts- - - - CD-Rom

Having recently applied all the (new xp user) the above
shortcut no longer works, I remember reading an article
about this and that it would be fixed in SP2?

The article also gave the id of the fix, for some reason I
can no longer find it, does anyone know the particular fix
that caused this error?

Open Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and uninstall the Microsoft
WindowsUpdate hotfix "821557"
