firstly, I'd suggest a more useful subject heading!

Just to ask a really obvious question, are the alternate
drives you're trying to relocate the pagefile to
formatted?

Next, deleting pagefile.sys is a waste of time, if the OS
isn't moving it elsewhere. And it normally won't be
visible either (nothing to do with the hidden attribute).
But to solve your frustation with the recovery console:

1. Switch to the drive root (CD \).

2. Copy c:\boot.ini pagefile.sys

3. DEL pagefile.sys

(from www.jsifaq.com)

Finally, I don't actually think the pagefile would be
anything to do with your problems - I'd experiment with
your memory modules - if the system isn't running well,
one of actual ram chips may be at fault. Take them all
out and try booting with one at a time. Or test them in
another machine. Borrow some "known-good" memory from
someone else and try that in your machine.

Similarly, do the same with your video card and sound
card - one of them might be buggy
