We have an e-machine equipped with Windows XP. The
machine is a couple years old, and suddenly will not boot
up successfully. The screen stays black for about 10
minutes while the harddrive works away, then displays
that the file systems are being checked and that "one of
the disks needs to be checked for consistency." Then it
just freezes up.
My son has a semester project stored on this computer,
and is unable to finish it until we get the computer to
run. Any ideas?
