cant take ownership

i re-installed winxp home and now i cant access protected
files on the ntfs file system.. im logged in as computer
admin but still when i right click on the file there is
no Security tab... my c:\ drive is formated with the ntfs
file system and ive disabled simple file sharing is there
any other way to get my files back please help
