Well it depends on several factors.
What is the reason for the removal and reinstallation.
Did u back up the favourites and personal settings.
Are you willing to go for a fresh format and then reinstall of the OS.

Just boot from the Windows XP CD and follow the prompts for a
clean installation. It will do the reformat for you.
