we lease computers from compaq, and get new lease
computers every 3 years. last Jan, we exchanged 20 new
computers. the returned are OS Win 95 and new one's OS is
Win XP. within 2 monthes, we found new computers getting
slower, this month is even slower. the most heavy used
computer, the slowest. In the new computer, there are
sevice pack, office XP, and few small applications.
everybody use office. symantec corp. edtion anti-virus
installed, every week, new virus definition upgraded via
server.

when new computers getting slower, I checked old computer,
whatever Win95, Win98, or Win2000, they are not slow. they
are even faster running same program then Win XP, although
they have slower CPU and small memory. some users even
asked me to get they old computer back.

for better isolate the problem, I run quick restore which
is totally erase everything on 3 new computers. reinstall
OS. office ...., one week right after installation, user
reported slow again. that is true, slow again... slow then
Win 95 old computer.

Please help, thanks very very much

I can confirm that it slowed down my machine. I removed that hotpatch
and the system was back to it's normal speed.

Did you also have to reinstall stuff, or just remove the patch to get normal
speed back?
