windows xp hot fix??

in my add/remove program list i have lots of prog. called
windows xp hot fix with reference numbers in brackets all
different could someone PLEASE tell me what the hell these
are as new ones keep appearing.

It is automaticly downloaded and installed "hot fix" from Windows Update
Server.
