Appologies to Rifleman, Didn't know my previous query had
ended up in this very helpful forum.
I have removed a virus /parasite which implanted three
start-up items in my SUC.
They no longer trouble me but how do I delete the text
lines ?

See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Startup Programs Tracker. This =
small utility scans your system for startup programs and running =
processes. It also allows you to create a log file that can be copied =
and pasted into a newsgroup post. The contents of the program window =
are also copied to the Windows Clipboard, automatically.
This utility will tell you where the item is being loaded from, and the =
included Help will give you information on how to remove them.

>Thankyou, Doug! "The Tracker" did indeed identify the
three items which are displayed as 'disabled' items.
How do I erase (twink out) the text in the START section
of my System Config.Utility.
The offending programmes themselves have been deleted
from the registry I merely want to tidy up by removing
unwanted text.
