Hi
I have an HP 3970 Scanner. It has been working fine until today. I
tied to scan a document into Paper Port and the scanner is no longer
showing just a blank space. It will not work with the HP Image
software but will work and scan into Microsoft word and when using the
scanner wizard. I cannot insert scanner image from any program other
than word. Using Windows XP Home. Having done a little fiddling I have
discovered the problem is with Twain as the Microsoft programs use
another method. There used to be an option somewhere to select which
method to use but this seems to have gone. The software provided with
the scanner is the same as already on the computer in part but a lower
version number and the machine does not seem to recognize this so I
have to different versions of the software all mixed up although it
seemed to be using the higher version.
Any help appreciated
Very Puzzled
Thanks and Regards
James

Hi - have you checked with HP, unloaded/reinstalled all the software? And
when did HP buy PaperPort?
