I'm the sys administrator for my computer and I have a
valid account w/ a valid logon password. The problem is,
I need to reset my sys. admin. password for Recovery
Console, Safemode, etc.

It's not the same as the one that I use to logon to the
computer normally. I *KNOW* there's a way to do it in
Windows XP, but I can't recall where to do it, and
Window's Help Index isn't much use either.

Does anyone know how or where to do this, aside from
tinkering around with the system registry?

Just to be clear: When using this program, resetting the built-in
system Administrator's password, does this then mean that if in the
future something else implodes and you can only log on in Safe mode
with the system admin, does this new one now become the "first"
default??

If you never used this program, you can still in XP log as an admin
pretty much under any circumstances, correct? (ie. Ctrl-Alt-Del twice,
leave pwd blank usually b.c. this was default). Would this still be
the case now?

thanks for helping
