View Full Version : After installing IIS, I can't boot XP Pro

I just bought Visual Studio .Net. Before you can install it, it tells you
to install IIS with FrontPage extensions. So, I put in my XP Pro disk and
installed that software (from the splash screen, not from add/remove
programs, if that matters).

After the installation, I try to reboot and I'm out of business. I get into
a continual reboot loop. It freezes for a few seconds just after the
Mup.sys loads and then results the system and starts with POST again....ad
infinitum. I've tried about three re-installs and the behavior is
repeatable -- no problems with XP until I install IIS.

Is there something else I can try before I melt my XP CD? Even better, is
there a way to use Visual Studio with something like Apache rather than
having to deal with IIS?
