Hi,

When I'm in the loggin window and I try to enter my
username and password, the letters that I type on my
keyboard are not the same as those written on the screen.
For example the letters a and q are reversed... When I
enter with an account that does not have a password and
type someting on notepad my keyboard is ok (ie the
letters that I type are the ones that appear on the
screen) Can someone tell me what I need to change to fix
this issue? Thanks for your help.

It probably is that the keyboard you actually have is different than
keyboard that XP has been told. For example, you have a French
keyboard, and XP think's it's English, or some other language combination.

Check Control Panel, Regional and Language Settings, Tab: Languages,
Button: Details.

sounds like your regional settings for that account are set to a language
other than English, looks like French.

you have two options:
- press alt + shift, to shift between english and french, then type your
password in
- type your password in the user name space (so you can see what the
characters are, since you're not familiar with the layout of a french
keyboard) and then just copy/paste it into the passowrd field

after you've logged in, and if you want to revert your regional settings
back to English, go to Start | Control Panel | Regional and Language
Options, and make your settings there..

hope that helps!
