I have had my new PC for a couple of weeks.
I was able to originally install programs just fine. I
uninstalled turbotax two days ago and could not reinstall
it. When I tried to install another program I found that
all of a sudden when trying to install new software off CD-
ROM, the CD starts up, I get the install window asking me
whether I want to install, I click on yes, it goes to an
pointer+hour glass for a few seconds and then terminates
with nothing else happening, leaving me back on the
desktop.
I have the only administrator account, and it does the
same with more than one program CD (i.e. it is a
repeatable error by the ssytem, not the program CDs).
Any idea what might be happening here?
