I downloaded the latest Visual Studio 2003 and when I started the download
it gave me bunch of ISO files.
Now I know these are the image files, how do I install the new VStudio using
these ISO files.
Any clues???

You have to burn them to disk and make them essentially install disks. =
But I have never heard (not that it isn't possible) of a website =
offering a download in ISO format. What you are getting is piracy since =
VS 2003 is a Microsoft product, that isn't downloadable (other than =
fixes/patches for the software). Why not purchase it legally, and save =
yourself some trouble. You never know what is in those ISO files, and MS =
cannot be contacted for support.

Description
Built to address today's most challenging software development needs, Visual
Studio .NET 2003 enhances, further refines, and is highly compatible with
its predecessor. Visual Studio .NET 2003 includes a complete range of
capabilities from modelers that aid in visually composing the most complex
of enterprise-class applications to deploying an application on the smallest
of devices. In use by companies of every size across the world, Visual
Studio .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework provide a powerful,
sophisticated, end-to-end tool for designing, developing, debugging, and
deploying secure applications for Microsoft Windows® and the
Web-applications that are robust and easy to use.
Visual Studio .NET 2003 contains an enhanced version of the .NET Framework.
The .NET Framework version 1.1 builds upon the previous version with new
capabilities, enhancements, and improvements to documentation. With
integrated support for the .NET Compact Framework, Visual Studio .NET 2003
brings mobile and embedded devices such as the Pocket PC, as well as other
devices powered by the Microsoft Windows CE .NET operating system, to .NET.
Now, developers can use the same programming model, development tools, and
skills to build applications that span from small devices to the largest
data center.
Instructions
An ISO-9660 image file is an exact representation of a CD, including the
content and the logical format. The most common use of an image file is to
write it to a blank CD-R resulting in an identical copy of the original CD
including file name and volume label information. ISO Images can also be
extracted directly to a file location by many CD-R utilities. For more
information about image files, please visit the MSDN FAQ.

Thank you harry,
It's an MSDN subscriber download.
I work for a school and our school has the MSDN subscribtion.
My professor asked me to find out how can we install ISO files, and that is
the reason I asked.
It's completely legit, so I guess now I have to tell my Prof. to wander
within the site.
Is it possible someone can give me an idea rather than directing me to go to
the website.
I searched on the microsoft site, no luck there. It only gave me as to what
is in ISO files.

What application do you use to burn your CD-R's?
Using NERO:
Choose burn image
Then in the filebrowser, choose all files *.* instead of Nero image *.nrg
Select your *.iso file and you are ready to burn.
Using CDRWin and EZCD Creator:
Choose to make CD from image and then choose the *.iso as the source
Otherwise you can use an application like ISO Buster to extract all the
files from the ISO file and then burn them to CD.
Hope this helps :-)

If you have CD Burning software in addition to XPs built in software then
launch the app and use the Burn Image function. Also set the burn to Disk At
Once (DAO) for best results. If you do not have third party burning software
you can download a fully functional version of Nero from here www.nero.com
however it times out after 30 days unless you purchase it.
1)Install Nero. It will be found in Programs->Ahead.
2)Launch "Nero Express"
3)Select the option called "Disk Image or Saved Project"
4)Change "Files of type" to "All files"
5)Locate the directory that conatins your .ISO and select it
6)Pop a blank CD-R into the drive and burn.

Hi,
Try the .iso add-in component from MVP Alex Feinman for WinXP's native

Let me guess, you probably downloaded it from KaZaA Lite or some other P2P
program. Well, the ISO files, like you said are CD image files and contain
all of the CD's data. Similarly, BIN files are CD images and NRG files
contain useful information such as documentation to writing it to CD. This
ought to be your first resort.
Otherwise, the second best thing is Nero Burning ROM 5.5.9.0. Close down all
windows such as wizards when Nero is running, and of course insert a blank
CD-R/RW into your CD burner before starting it and select from the "File"
menu, "Burn Image". It will ask you to locate the ISO. Unfortunately, ISO is
one of many image formats that are not programmed by default, therefore,
locate the ISO by selecting "All Files *.*". The default burning settings
will be satisfactory.
Hope this works!

You have to burn them to disk and make them essentially install disks. But I
have never heard (not that it isn't possible) of a website offering a
download in ISO format. What you are getting is piracy since VS 2003 is a
Microsoft product, that isn't downloadable (other than fixes/patches for the
software). Why not purchase it legally, and save yourself some trouble. You
never know what is in those ISO files, and MS cannot be contacted for
support.

The other messages in the thread indicate that it is an MSDN download,
not anything being pirated from a P2P app.

Funny, My first install of XP was an ISO file that I downloaded direct from
Microsoft.
This is done all the time with MSDN. In the Case of XP, I actually paid
$20.00 to
Microsoft to be able to download the file. Just because someone says they
downloaded it
does not mean it's a pirated version.
