Hi,
I have a question I hope someone can help me with. I recently had to
reinstall WindowsXP from a clean install. When I was done I ended up with a
LOT of folders within the "Documents and Settings" folder. When I say a lot
I mean here is what it looks like (some) not all:
Administrator
User
All users
default user
Sandra~
Authority
local settings
more more and more stuff...
This is just a sample. The subfolders seem to be similar. How can I clean
this up?
I am running Windowsxp.
I am the only user and will be the only user.
I do not need additional accounts on this system.
I have a Linksys router to connect to a backup desktop, but I do not share
files. It is just additional internet access in case of an emergency.
Can someone help me?

Many of the folders you list are quite normal and necessary.
When you reinstall you should start with a fresh format,=20
unless you are intentionally doing an upgrade install in order=20
to effect a repair.=20
Since you only sort of hand wave as to what directories are=20
at the first level under Documents and Settings it is hard to=20
say much more. However, profiles will exist for All Users=20
and Default as well as for each user or admin account

Roger,
The files are in this order:
Administrator
All Users
All users.Windows
Default User
Default User.Windows
Local Service
Local Service.NT.Authority
Network Service
Network Service.NT.Authority
Sandra."my last name".Sandra"my last name"-"numbers"
Sandra~1~SAN
The folders within here a very similar. This only occurred AFTER I
reinstalled windowsxp. I find it confusing. For example there is more than
one My documents within these folders. Can this be cleaned up?
