Have XP Pro installed for some time. Zone Alarm is my firewall with only
selected accesses allowed. Norton's Anti-virus with auto-protect on.
Recently when started computer really, really slow and wouldn't allow
connection to Internet.
Found that Task Mgr shows 100% CPU usage. System clock running extremely
fast - graphical clock face the minute hand circles continually (like a bad
movie showing time passing rapidly). Took to local computer store - they
tried MSConfig to isolate - said never seen and couldn't find.
Yes. I did a virus scan with updated file - No viruses found.
When I create a new user - first time I log in - normal. Log-out and back
in - normal. Re-boot and log-in - same problem, and stays for subsequent
log-outs and ins.
