Does anyone know the proper steps to take to set a
mandatory user profile in Windows XP Pro? Here is what I
tried: I went into the profile root directory under
Documents and Settings. There is a file called
NTUSER.DAT (the folder must be set to view all files and
show system files). I changed the extension to .MAN.
Then I rebooted with no problems. After I was back in
WinXP, I changed the background (just to test the new
setting), then I rebooted. This time it not only reset
the background, like it was supposed to, but it also
reset all the changes that I had made prior to changing
the extension to .MAN. For example, I had removed some
selections from the Start menu, but these selections
reappeared after this reboot. AND, the NTUSER.MAN file
had changed back to NTUSER.DAT. Can anyone help?
