Should I install bootvis or not? I have done everything
possible to reduce start-up/boot time, except this. If I
do install, will it make it worse, and is it easily
deleted? Add/remove program? Comments, thoughts,
please??! Happy Holidays!

Wait for more posts to your question before you install. It is my
understanding that MS no longer offers Bootvis due to some kind of conflict,
I don't recall the details. Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable than I,
will respond to your query

I hear ya Jax... Thanks for the response and yes, I've
also read about possible conflicts w/XP. The MVP's
usually always come through with concrete solutions.
Thanks again!

Not. It is only a tool to set up an initial idea of optimal file
placement - in the ordinary course of use XP does a regular adjustment
every three days which optimises placement of system and program files
for best *overall* performance, of which boot is only a part.
Microsoft have in fact withdrawn it from provision to end users because
advice to use it was resulting in people running it every day or so, and
in fact making things worse again
