Sam

The folder "ebkrdr" appears to be connected with the Hotbar spyware.

Recommendations:

Get one or both of the following programs to get rid of it and check for
other spyware files.

Ad-aware - Lavasoft:

Spybot S&D

i am currently running a trial version of 'spy sweeper'.
i just downloaded ad-aware, and it is detecting several
more items. thx.
Meanwhile, what can we do to prevent these un-authorized
attacks on our systems? i run Norton AV & firewall. is
that not enough?
And do i need to purchase ad-aware in order to get full
protection benefits? i have told my teen to stay off i-
mesh and kazza, and i uninstalled them and gave her her
own computer for x-mas.

thx a bunch :)

Hey Sam,

Try the download from the following site
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Run SpyBot S&D and then activate this little program. It does not remove
spyware like S&D, it keeps it from getting there in the first place. It is
not a bad idea to run both S&D and AdAware before installation because,
sometimes one will pick up something the other doesn't.

LOL, JAX

Sam

Your doing a lot of the right things to protect yourself. Avoiding things
like Kazza and other unsecured software is good. The free version of AdAware
does a good job for the typical surfer.
