Destroy the formatting on the hard disk. Other than that, there is no
un-unstall procedure.

Not entirely true. If you upgraded from a previous version of
Windows, and chose to leave the old OS intact so you could revert back
to it, then you can "uninstall" XP.
It depends on how XP was installed.
