I performed a clean install of XP Home edition and then installed all
the updates, including SP1. Everything works well, except for Internet
Explorer, which keeps reporting "Runtime Error" and asking if I wish to
debug. I installed the latest JRE release from Sun, but that has not
corrected the problem. Can anyone d3fine a fix for this problem?

I answered yes. The debugger responds with "Microsoft JScript runtime
error: Object expected"
