unwanted pop ups and search engine

I am going NUTS! Every time I go into IE this pop up
comes up (asking me to do this stupid survey) and it will
not go to my nominated home page. It takes me to this
search site that says something along the lines of "cant
find what you are looking for?" I have deleted it from
address bar, but it keeps coming back. It started when my
husband looked at a pornographic site (LOL!) which also
latched itself onto my computer. I think I have deleted
the horrid thing, but now I keep getting this search page
coming up instead of my home page. I have gone into my
internet settings and my nominated home page is still
there, I have cleared my history and STILL this thing wont
go away. The only place I can find it is in the address
bar and I have deleted it from there too, but it keeps
coming back. can someone PLEASE help me???

Try running Ad-Aware:

http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

This will search for spyware and adware that might be causing the symptoms
you describe.

There's also a possibility that your computer has contracted a virus from
your husband's "unsafe" web browsing, especially if you don't have the
latest updates installed for your browser. If you don't have up-to-date
antivirus software running, get some! Suggestions appear on this newsgroup
daily.
