When hibernate is enabled, the system gives me a read
error on restart, causing it to restart the system from
scratch. It started this only recently. It worked fine
before. I do not remember any new installations or
upgrades around the time that it started.

Anyone have any suggestions about fixing it??

Have you tried disabling Hibernation, rebooting and then re-enabling it
again? Maybe just a bit of corruption???

Or this could be related to flaky RAM. Try reseating the RAM stick(s). If
you have more than one stick try running with only one stick and see if that
works. If not swap the other stick in and see what happens.

I'd suggest disabling Hibernation at Control Panel - Power Options -
Hibernate. Then defrag the disk, then enable hibernation again, to give
a fresh hibernation file
