Windows XP Service Pack 1a Revisited

Greetings,

Last month I bought DVD Xpress from
http://www.tigerdirect.com and have

been having difficulties in installing the ADStech CapWiz
device. Specifically, I cannot install their drivers.
According to their manual, first I need to install
Microsoft USB 2.0 Drivers from Microsoft, which they say
comes bundled with WinXP Service Pack 1 (now 1a).
However, when I do that from Microsoft, I get the
following error
message:

"Windows XP SP1 is incompatible with this version of
Windows. For more information, contact Microsoft."

I have spent days in searching Microsoft's FAQ and
troubleshooter sections with no results. The DVD Xpress
support staff is of no help, either.

By the way, in case you can't figure it out, my operating
system is Windows XP.
