The welcome screen is not updating the unread e-mail
messages. User login icon shows 18 unread messages from
account xxx, but no unread messages are present in said
mail account (using Outlook Express). This also occures
with the hotmail accounts and is not limited to one user
(same machine though). What to do? Turn off the feature
through the registry or is there another way?

Hi Greg,
Download Tweakui:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

There is an option to turn it off in there.

It's a NET Passport "bug"
I get it every once in a while, but once I check my NET passport mail, it
resets itself automatically.
